We’re IM Translation Services Ltd (Companies House no. 17089852), trading as Translations London (read more about us). Our office is a short walk from East Ham station. We work across the capital for solicitors, caseworkers, clinics, companies and families who need a translation they can rely on.
We only work with certified, qualified linguists. Our translators hold a recognised translation qualification and work into their mother tongue. For court and police work, we use NRPSI-registered interpreters. Linguists working in hospitals and other sensitive settings are DBS-checked. Nobody learns the job on your paperwork.
Every certified translation goes to a second linguist, who checks it line by line against the original. That’s the core quality rule of ISO 17100, the international standard for translation, and we follow it on every certified job. Then we sign it, date it and add our contact details, so whoever receives it can check it with us.
We’re registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and handle your files under UK GDPR. Passports, medical notes and asylum statements are all treated the same way: only the people working on your job see them, and we delete them when you ask.

Yes. Each certified translation includes a statement that it is an accurate translation of the original, the date, the translator’s full name and signature, and our contact details. That is what GOV.UK asks for. The Home Office doesn’t approve or register translation companies, so be wary of anyone claiming to be “Home Office approved”.
Certified translation starts at £35 per page for certificates such as birth, marriage and death certificates, passports and driving licences. Marketing copy starts at £40 per page. Legal, immigration, asylum, medical and other documents start at £45 per page. You get a fixed quote within 30 minutes during opening hours, and that’s the price you pay.
Most documents of one to three pages are ready in 3 to 5 working days. Express 24-hour turnaround is available, and we can usually turn a document round the same day if we receive it before 11am. Larger files and court bundles are scheduled around your deadline.

No. We don’t hold a formal ISO 17100 certificate, so we won’t claim one. We do follow the standard’s core quality rule on every certified job: one qualified linguist translates, and a second qualified linguist checks the translation against the original before we deliver it.
Yes. We’re registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and handle personal data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Every linguist signs a confidentiality agreement. Only the people working on your job see your files, and we delete them on request once the job is finished.
A certified translation carries our signed statement that it is accurate, and most UK bodies ask for this. A notarised translation adds a notary public’s confirmation of that statement, which some overseas authorities require. The UK has no sworn translators, so if a foreign authority asks for a sworn translation, we’ll check what they’ll accept and arrange it.
Yes. A clear scan or phone photo is fine for a quote and for most translations. Make sure every page, stamp and handwritten note can be read. If the receiving body needs to see the original paper document, we’ll tell you before we start.
We correct it free of charge. If a caseworker, court or university asks for a change to our translation, send us their request. We’ll amend the translation and reissue the certified copy at no extra cost.
Yes. We work across every London borough, from East Ham and Stratford to the City, Westminster, Ealing and Croydon. Most certified translations are sent as signed PDFs, and we post hard copies by Royal Mail Tracked on request. You can also collect from our East Ham office in E6 by appointment.
